Kids helping kids at House of Hope

“Nothing pleases my heart more than to see kids helping kids”, expressed Denise Melton, the Executive Director of the House of Hope. It is a true indication that we are doing something to instill the true nature of giving within our children. The children of Christian Academy of the Cumberlands collected items and monetary donations to benefit the House of Hope through the month of February. The Teachers, children and teens became interested in the House of Hope after seeing Ms. Melton’s presentation regarding the plight of the drug endangered, abused and at-risk children of Cumberland County. With the help of this community and children like these the House of Hope has been able to provide services for almost 4,000 children since June of 2004. According to 2008 statistics there were 1,686 reported cases of abuse in Cumberland County alone. It will take everyone doing their part to help these innocent victims of abuse and the children of Christian Academy of the Cumberlands have definitely done their part.
